WELCOME 2012-13 Renegades

After what was one of the best seasons ever by any Water Polo Club in Canadian History !  We embark on another Polo season.

The beauty of such a great season preceding us, is that, it sets the bar for the new teams that want to make their place in Renegade History.

It will be a big challenge that requires help from all our athletes, coaches, players and their families. We have some significant areas that we must address to remain a World Class age group club.

First we must all do a little recruiting especially at the Bantam and lower levels of female players. If we could fill up those Atom programs in all our community clubs it would be a great start to ensuring the depth we need in the future. Not doing so, a number of years ago, put us in the current situation of having only 1 or 2 second year 18U players (born 95)! Luckily we many strong born in 96 and 97 players ready for the challenge of challenging for a third in a row 18U National Championship and a 5th in a row podium finish. (91's Bronze, 92's Gold,  93's Gold,  94's Gold)

The Renegade 16U girls  will try and make it one step further with a 6th consecutive Podium finish and a I am sure they want a step up on the Podium  (born in 92' Silver, 93' Gold, 94' Gold, 95' Silver 96' Bronze).

We should shoot to get back to 2009 Renegade standard when won 16U for the first time BUT also had a B team place top 10 in the 16 team field!!  That's where that Bantam recruiting mentioned earlier comes in.

Let's celebrate 2012 and use it as motivation for this next season . Let's also celebrate the individual successes such as : Rae, Cara and Kindred selected to the World Championship Youth team with Julia as the alternate .

Let's also celebrate what is now the most Renegades in the NCAA at any one time (10!)) -I  hope I don't miss any  : Cara and Rae to San Jose State, Sami and Courtney to Cal Baptist , Kelly McKee transferring to Cal Berkeley,  all joining the ones already there ; Alyssa Birch and Raine Paul at Cal Baptist,  Elise Martin at U of Pacific  Emily Csikos at Cal Berkeley and  Shelby Taylor at Indiana .  I know there are still other  "logs in the fire" and more signings could happen  Good Luck.

Let's not forget we also have Renegades in the OUA Breanna and Maggie at U of Toronto and Meghan at Carleton .

Could we finally have the final piece of the puzzle -  a critical number of Renegade Youth Graduates staying home to form the core of an excellent 22U team lead by 2012 22U Bronze Medallists: Alynn Reade , Elaine Block and Ashley Menard?

Good Luck and Go Renegades Go "
